FR. Avec Fleurs, Hubert Marot reprend le genre classique de la nature morte aux fleurs en jouant des limites du boîtier polaroid. Exploitant les possibilités optiques et chimiques, il crée des compositions hybrides, ni tout à fait photographie, ni tout à fait peinture, dans lesquelles la couleur tient le rôle titre. Il ne s’agissait pas pour lui de representer les fleurs mais plutôt la relation qu’il entretenait avec elles. Vanités dans le fond et la forme, ses Fleurs trompent l’œil, l’attrapent pour ne plus le lâcher. Elles kaléidoscopent.

EN. With Fleurs, Hubert Marot reprises the classical genre of the still-life with flowers, playing with the limits of a polaroid camera. Making use of the optical and chemical possibilities, he creates hybrid compositions, neither exactly photography nor painting, in which color plays the lead. For Marot, it was less about representing flowers than the relationship he maintains with them. Vanitas in both substance and form, Marot’s Fleurs deceive the eye, and catch it never to let it go. They kaleidoscope.
